Swypefile is the latest Digg clone site, but with a twist. Like any other social bookmarking site you are able to view and submit content, and vote on entries that spark your interest. The twist lies in the ad-revenue sharing program - Your Adsense ID will be shown 50% of the time on the pages of the content you submit. In addition to that, there is also a referral program. Your Adsense ID will also be shown 50% of the time on pages containing content submitted by your referrals.
First Impressions
Other than the revenue sharing incentive, it’s hard to differentiate Swypefile from any other Digg clone site. However it is still in its beta stages and only officially launched yesterday, so I’m very interested to see how big of a network they will grow into. I’ve already made $0.75 in adsense earnings from submitting 2 of my posts, which is more than I’ve made from the DP forums revenue sharing (and I’ve been a user there for 7 months). Also, because you are allowed to submit content that is not your own, you are able to make money off of someone else’s articles…I’m still deciding if I think this is ethical or not.
If I had to compare it with another site, I’d say it shares the most similarities with Blogging Zoom (minus the monetization). Both sites have similar layouts, and they both encourage you to submit your own content. Blogging Zoom, however, is specifically for blog content whereas Swypefile allows you to submit a wider variety of content ie audio and video clips.
What are your thoughts?
It’s difficult to keep up with all the different networking sites as there are tons to choose from. Will you add Swypefile to your list of sites to promote and/or view content? And if you’ve already added them, what are your thoughts?
