You like the catchy, unoriginal, take off of John Chow‘ title? Well, if you’re gonna borrow, borrow from the best. Anyway here’s this week’s biggest online newsmakers in the blogging world in a nutshell:
1. OS X: Lions, Tigers, and Leopards Oh My!

Apple unleashed the long-awaited OS X Leopard on the hungry tech mob yesterday. Thousands waited in line outside Apple stores while others searched online for anything to read on the new OS. Yes, Leopard is The OS That launched a Thousand Posts.
2. Google Hands Out A Few Spanks

Google announced the Updated Page Ranks starting a huge uproar. Many popular blogs (such as Problogger and Copyblogger) have slipped down to lower rankings. Good thing? Bad thing? Many bloggers have a strong opinion on the subject. As for (two-week old) Fresh Geeks, we have yet to worry about this.
Also of note, the controversial Ban of WidgetBucks…well, you can read more about WidgetBuck’s hidden text links at GotChance.
3. Blog Rush Cleans House

An upwards of 10,000 blogs were banned from Blog Rush this Monday, thus making John Reese possibly the most hated person in the blogging world. Among those blogs, were JohnCow dot com who made a big stink about it, and thereby used it to his advantage…Fuel for more posts; see here and here (The second post has a rather offensive title).
Any disagreements? Care to add your two cents? Feel free to leave a comment below. That’s a wrap for today! Aloha

“the os that launched 1000 posts” ha thats funny
I think that John Reese did well for the most part of choosing which blogs to ban. It’s not like you can’t talk to him if you have a disagreement. He Emails you back fairly quickly if you contact him with a complaint.
Perhaps there were more than a few blogs that gave cause for the ban, but that doesn’t stop people from disliking John Reese.
I’m lost. How many hands are playing this yo-yo game?
I got dumped twice in the last 2 months by Google for somehow playing in a pirating game of my stuff from my own site by others.
When I explained it to them–twice–I was re-instated.
A little of this goes a long way. Not good for the blood pressure.
I made it into blog rush with 10 blog in the same week all these other blogs get kicked off. I don’t know what all this means let hope it for the better. Things are changing fast it’s all about keeping up on all of it.
ya i think that they might have just knocked off all the unused (rarely used) blogs, which is good to reduce some unnecessary stuff on the net. a kind or reminder to all those lazy users. but a warning had to be given to all those unlucky bloggers. well its all done, and may not be possible to be undone again.
Somehow I don’t think it was a mistake that some notable blogs (such as John Cow’s) were banned then shortly re-instated. The only thing this indicates to me is that there’s some fishy business going on.
