There’s nothing like fresh calrose rice to complement a meal. Well, that might be your opinion if either you grew up in an Asian community, or live in Hawaii. I love rice! Oh, but not too much of it…it’s not a politically correct idea to love carbs (just kidding). Tiger has been the coveted household brand of rice cookers in my community. It is because their rice cookers are known for keeping rice warm and moist for a day or two without getting it buckshot (drying the rice out). The above is a picture of the latest model rice cooker on Tiger America’s official website.
Fresh Rice, Fresh Technology
The Tiger JAG-B10 rice cooker/warmer cooks up to 5.5 cups of raw rice (that totals to 11 cups of cooked rice). It features programmable microcomputer controlled cooking technology, an advanced pressure controlled steam venting sytem, soft touch control panel buttons, and a modern LCD display just to name a few. If you cook rice on a regular basis, you’ll know that brown rice takes about twice as long to cook than white rice. This machine, with a list price of $190, claims to take the guess work out of timing your rice cooking…you’ll appreciate this if you ever had to cook rice over the stove.

That is cool! For Asian like me, rice is a must in lunch and dinner. For $190, I think the price is affortable for such technology. I wonder what my mom will think about this?
I don’t know if I’d say $190 is affordable, but I’ll definitely make good use of the rice cooker for that price.
