The front USB inputs on my computer are fried, so I was browsing the web for an external hub. There’s a lot to choose from. Some are lighted, disguised as toys, and/or are multi-functional. I compiled a short list of the geekiest USB devices I stumbled across.

The Armageddon USB Hub (MSRP $68.00) is disguised as a military detonation device complete with a self-destruct button, on-off switches, and a key and lock. The self-destruct button honks when pressed, and playing with the switches and key will cause the lights on the device to flash. The 4 USB ports are hidden in the back of the device. Of all the Geeky USB stuff listed, this one is the coolest in my opinion. (more…)

This is the remote control for my grandmother’s television. She was feeling overwhelmed by all the buttons on it, so we were going to give her a walk-through of the different functions, but my Aunt had a better idea to simplify it all…No need to clutter your mind with unnecessary information. This is the strictly ‘need to know basis’ method for teaching people how to use a tv remote.
