Building quality backlinks to your blog is essential for SEO…there is no question about that. THE question is where can one go and what can one do to build quality backlinks?
Commenting [constructively and non-spammy] on blogs with DoFollow (the nofollow attribute removed).
*DoFollow is the term I’ll be using to indicate the removal of the nofollow attribute.
The following are blogging tips and resources for finding DoFollow sites to build those quality backlinks.
For those of you who do not know what Bumpzee is, it’s a blogging social network similar to BlogCatalog. Here you will find groups and communities on various subject and niches. Among those, you’ll find Andy Beard’s ‘No NoFollow | I Follow | DoFollow’ Community. All members of this community must be DoFollow enabled.
To ensure that this is so, Mr. Beard personally checks all blogs before approving membership. You’ll find a list of all members and blog urls on the front page of this community.
The D-List is comprised of 5 pages full of links to DoFollow blogs. Mr. Tuttle also includes a code snippet to copy if you would like to create your own D-List page on your site.
Comment Kahuna is a free program that aids in mass commenting, finding DoFollow, and targeting blogs with specific niches and pageranks of your choice. I’ve played around with it a little, but haven’t put it to good use as of yet.
If you have tried Comment Kahuna, feel free to leave your thoughts on this program.
SEOpen is a Firefox extension that puts a bunch of SEO tools (ie pagerank, Alexa, and backlink stats checkers) conveniently in your Firefox browser.
Now that you’ve gained access to DoFollow lists, you can use the Firefox extension SEOpen to easily check the pagerank of the specific site you’re commenting on.
Mr. Beard is a firm supporter of the DoFollow movement and has listed most, if not all, Wordpress plugins that remove the nofollow attribute. If you use DoFollow sites for backlink building, why not contribute to the movement by enabling DoFollow on your blog?
The above should be more than enough to get you started on building backlinks aimed for search engine domination. If you’ve got a great DoFollow related list or resource, let me know and I’ll add it to the list above and credit you for the find.

Thanks for the info J.Blu. I was wondering if my site was no follow free. I will use some of these plugins to make sure.
Thanks again,
Mike
No problem Mike. I’m glad you found it helpful.
True… commenting constructively will eventually create traffic and links. Nice website..
How do I get my picture to display like the two who commented before me?
Oh, it’s already up! coolness!
